Kebbi gov sacks two traditional rulers

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has ordered the removal of two third class traditional rulers following a confirmed allegation of indictment, corruption and connivance levelled against them.
The removed traditional rulers are, Alhaji Hudu Dan Malam, who until his removal was the Chief of Fakai and Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Ala’aje, the Chief of Danko both of Fakai and Danko-Wassagu Local Government Areas of Zuru Emirate in Kebbi State.
The two former royal father were found guilty of misconduct and criminal activities ranging from aiding criminals to unleash terror on their people such as armed robberies and cattle rustling.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Abubakar Muazu Dakingari, and made available to newsmen, it was stated that sequel to the queries issued to them by the Emir of Zuru and suspension letters by their respective local government Sole Administrators, the governor ordered their removal.

The statement also quoted the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri, as saying the allegations ranged from connivance with known criminals, kidnappers, cattle rustlers and armed robbers, as well as involving in fraud, cheating, dishonesty, rudeness and involvement in illicit drugs use.
A seven-member investigative committee set up to look into the allegations against the two men was chaired by the former Deputy Governor of the State and a Senior Councillor in Argungu Emirate council, Alhaji Sani Aliyu Augie, (OFR) while other members were Galadiman Yauri, Sarkin Kudun Gwandu, Majidadin Zuru and the representatives of State Security Service (SSS) and the Police.
